9 tips to boost your career

1. recognizing when you've been in a job too long

One of the moments when we need to rethink our professional life is when we feel that we have been working in the same job for too long. If what we're doing no longer motivates us or we feel like we're stagnating, it's time to leave our comfort zone. We should consider either a promotion or a job change.

2. learning to separate

One of the moments when we need to rethink our professional life is when we feel that we have been working in the same job for too long. If what we're doing no longer motivates us or we feel like we're stagnating, it's time to leave our comfort zone. We should consider either a promotion or a job change.

3. create a personal SWOT analysis or a talent map of yourself

This way, you know at this stage where your weaknesses and strengths lie and you can identify your skills and potential for a job in other areas of the company or in other roles that are different from the ones you have held so far.

4. maintain your presence in social networks

Social networks are a double-edged sword. If we use them professionally, we can advance our careers through the content we share or the network of contacts or networking we create; but equally, poor use can cause us to lose the good image or personal 'brand' we have worked so hard to build.

5. avoid toxic people

This maxim should apply in every area of our lives, including the workplace. If we want to advance our careers, we need to know how to surround ourselves with positive people. Envious people or those who constantly complain will infect us with negativity and hinder us in our development.

6. unlearning in order to relearn

Knowing how to recycle ourselves and always being willing to learn is crucial in today's working world. If we are not able to unlearn things that are no longer useful to us and replace them with new concepts and knowledge, it is very likely that we will stagnate.

7. learn to manage your time well

It is very important to know how to distinguish between what is important and what is urgent. A good organization of tasks, avoiding unnecessary waste of time, will make us work better and take time to think about our career and decide if we need to advance it or change some aspects.

8. embracing change

If you want to advance your career, there's nothing better than being flexible and not being afraid of change. As mentioned in point 1, being able to move outside of your comfort zone helps you to see change as a positive thing and drive your career forward.

9. be great at what you do

The best way to promote ourselves in our work is to try to be the best at what we do. If we are not happy with what we have, it is our duty to change it, but in the meantime we should be good at what we do. As Napoleon Hill said: "If you can't do big things, do small things in a big way".
